Pantone Color of the Year: Honeysuckle
My favorite ceremony decor from the 2010 season...
Every bride has a different vision for where the wedding ceremony will take place. For some it's a traditional church ceremony, others at their venue or a historical site and for the more natural bride an outdoor wedding takes place! Here are a few of my favorite ceremony sites from this past season....

4th of July Wedding Featured on Style Me Pretty Today!
A 4th of July wedding held at the Guilford Yacht Club we designed the flowers for was featured on the Style me Pretty Little Black Book Blog today! Lots of Purple Hydrangea, Orchids and Maiden Hair Fern was used with accents of succulents. The simple Chuppah was made of Birch Branches with floral sprays of Orchids and Ferns attached to the 2 corners. Beautiful photographs taken by Robert & Kathleen Photographers and event coordination by Jubilee Events.

Bridal Bouquet Highlights!
I think my favorite part of each wedding is designing the bridal bouquets and delivering the bride's bouquet to her when she is getting ready. By the day of the wedding I have met with the bride numerous times and had countless correspondence with her, I feel a great connection with her vision and personality and can't wait to express it through her bouquet.
The bridal bouquet is the final piece to be designed on the morning of the wedding with every flower at it's peak. It's exciting to see the look on each brides' face as they receive their bouquet, it's months of working together and planning to get just the right look that they have been envisioning. Here are a few of my favorites from this past season...

Highlights from 2010 Season
This time of year when the crazy wedding season slows down I like to take some time to reflect on the past season. 2010 was the busiest year yet for Blush, lots of hard work went into the season and I was really happy with all the studio accomplished and how much fun we had while doing it! It's nice to look back at all the events months later to reopen my eyes to the styles, colors and flowers of each event all over again.
Over the next few posts I will be highlighting some of my favorite decor from the 2010 season...

Winter White Wedding
This post is a little overdue, but before the craziness of the holidays, Blush studio designed our last wedding of 2010. Winter whites and dusty blues were the color scheme of the simple and sophisticated event held at Lauralton Hall and the Society Room in Hartford.
Personal flowers included Ranunculus, feathers and herbs for the boutonnieres which were wrapped with fabric from the gowns.
A mix of Peonies, Ranunculus, Kale, and herbs made for the bridal and bridesmaids' bouquets. The bridal bouquet was wrapped with the brides' baby bonnet!
The ceremony took place at the Bride's High School, Lauralton Hall in Milford. Simple glass vase arrangements flanked the altar while white carnation wreaths decorated the pews with icy blue dupioni silk streamers.
The reception featured two styles of centerpieces, half with cylinders wrapped with white vellum paper with Winter greens laid on the table, half with low mounded centerpieces of White Peonies with accents of Lambs Ear, Brunia and Rosemary arranged in silver pedestal bowls. Lots of candles everywhere!
